Vera Wang knows bridal wear. So much so that for the last 20 years no other name has been as synonymous with stylish brides as Vera’s. Consequently, it took us a bit by surprise when Vera announced her collaboration with David’s Bridal, the country’s largest bridal retailer. We took a visit to her showroom to check it out firsthand and were amazed at the stunning translation from her namesake line to this new endeavor. Each gown from the 12-piece collection was specially designed to capture the luxurious essence of Vera Wang, but at an affordable price point. We couldn’t get enough.
“David’s is one of the foremost retailers in the country, and I really wanted to bring [my designs] to more brides all over the US,” says Wang. “I reinterpreted older silhouettes and developed new fabrics to bring this line to life. My style has a certain youthfulness, whimsy and detail, but I wanted to bring something new to the bridal market.”
White by Vera Wang (davidsbridal.com/vera-wang) launches this spring at 150 stores across the US. The inaugural collection, which is affordably priced between $600 and $1,400, is available in sizes ranging from 0-14 and features quintessential “Vera” details like an obi horsehair sash, antique crystal flower embellishments, hand-cut organza flanges and tulle swirls.
“Vera Wang is the world’s most influential bridal fashion icon, and White by Vera Wang brings her authentic style and aesthetic to brides nationwide at an attainable price point,” says Bob Huth, president and CEO of David’s Bridal. He continues, “Our goal was to bring another point of view into our store. We understand how important that is to our customer, and also for attracting new customers.”
